CCS race at Jennings GP - May 3-4, 2008

This was my second time racing my Aprilia RS125 with CCS at Jennings GP, and I was much more comfortable. My lap times were down (PB 1:37:181) and so was my knee. My 125 isn't truly in the same league as the Hondas - my bike is 100 pounds heavier and probably 12 HP light. But the bike is still very fun to ride and there are still a lot of seconds out there waiting to be shaved.

The day started out ominously. In the first practice session I was hit from behind in turn 12 which made me go off-track at about 75 mph, but luckily it did not take me off the bike. I didn't notice until the last race of the next day that that crash actually bent my left rearset in enough to lightly rub the swing arm. I'm surprised that I didn't get my ankle hurt in that tag!

We forgot to bring any cameras this weekend, so thanks to Ricky for getting the pictures you see here. I did have my Tony Hawk helmet cam so I did compile an on-bike video, and my dad shot some video of me going through some of the turns with it.

Overall, it was a really good weekend. I don't have the bike to hang with the fastest guys there, but I was able to dice it up with Chris (BMW 1100) and Parker (Honda RS125). I placed 12th in Amateur GT Lights, and 6th in 125 GP.
